Gene Therapy Research Scientist

In your role as a member of our Research Team, you will contribute to the advancement of our platform and discovery programs. Using your expertise in vector biology, molecular and cell biology, and bioanalytics you will work with a team of junior scientists and lead from the bench to expand our AAV platform and pipeline projects.

THE POSITION: Sr. Scientist, Gene Therapy

LOCATION : France, Paris / Bordeaux


  • Leads and works with a team of talented scientists to coordinate viral vector production and vector engineering efforts for our gene therapy platform, providing scientific and technical direction
  • Works with junior scientists, engineers and technicians to evaluate and implement innovative approaches to optimize viral vectors capsids, transgenes, and promoters to support our gene therapy pipeline programs
  • Oversees and and oversees the implementation of capsid engineering efforts, including the preparation of DNA libraries to identify next-generation capsids with tailored properties. Assists in experimental design and troubleshooting
  • Develops and manages relationship with external collaborators and Contract Research Organizations (i.e. drafts study plans, review study reports)
  • Oversees the update and maintenance of accurate, comprehensive laboratory notebooks



  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Gene Therapy or related fields, with 5+ years post graduate experience in academia and/or the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is preferred 
  • Hands-on experience with AAV production and purification, transgene construct design, molecular cloning, and/or testing vector transduction in vitro is highly desired
  • Demonstrated expertise in AAV biology, cell and molecular biology, vectorology and gene therapy; prior experience with AAV capsid design would be a plus.
  • Strong critical, scientific, and strategic thinking skills, allowing for independent work with minimal supervision, are required
  • A strong self-starter, independent thinker, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members including PhD level scientists
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic scientific environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills
