We are seeking a talented Bioconjugation Scientist to contributes to the advancement of our cutting-edge ALIGATER technology platform, which enables the development of Coave’s proprietary conjugated vectors (coAAVs and coLNPs). Your role

As a Bioconjugation Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, executing and optimizing bioconjugaison experiments. From methods developpement to advance characterization of biosonjugates, your work will directly support Coave’s innovative therapeutic programs. Collaborating with a dynamic and cross-funtional team, you’ll help drive the success of our platform and contribute to the next generation of gene therapies.

Responsibilities

Chemical Conjugation (Development/Optimization/Execution):

  • Design and conduct conjugation experiments with viral and non-viral particles. Hands-on execution of purification, buffer and solution preparation, conjugation reaction work-up.
  • Optimize conjugation protocols to improve efficiency and specificity of bioconjugates.
  • Proactively participates in the improvement of Coave technology

Analytical Development, Optimization and Characterization:

  • Perform, develop and optimize bioanalytical methods to support the characterization of conjugated viral and non-viral particles.
  • Evaluate new analytical techniques and propose improvements or alternatives to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize analytical workflows to ensure high-quality data and reproducibility.

Miscellaneous:

  • Ensure an accurate record and maintain experimental documentation.
  • Write technical protocols/reports, including experimental results, analysis and interpretation.
  • Participate in laboratory management (maintenance of lab equipment, materials shipment preparation and “materials & consumables” management).
  • Serve as needed as bioconjugation subject-matter expert for internal and external project communications.
  • Maintain technical understanding of advancements in bioconjugation through literature searches and review.
  • Attendance and participation at scientific and business conferences.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Communicates on project updates with bioconjugation team and transversely with any Coave employee involved in the different projects.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new laboratory personnel, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Biochemical Sciences, or bio-engineering or any related field (MS/PhD/PhamD) with  >2 years (PhD/PharmD) / >5 years (BS/MS) of working experience in biotherapeutic development or bioconjugation.
    • Ideally knowledge of bioconjugation reactions, techniques and approaches.
    • Hands on experience in carrying out a variety of bioanalytical techniques (dPCR/qPCR, WB, MS, Mass photometry etc…) and/or production of biological molecules
    • Problem-solving skills, with attention to details and precision in experimental execution.
    • Ability to work independently  and ability to work in cross-functional teams,
    • Team-oriented, pro-active and able to drive changes where needed
    • Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to clearly present data and insights.
    • Experience in project management and mentoring junior team members.
    • Knowledge of strategies for the optimization of bioprocesses and experimental design (DoE).
    • Proefficient in english reading and writing, ideally fluent in english.
