Position Overview
Coave is seeking a Scientist to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis (Duration: 6 months). The position is within the Discovery-Preclinical team. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design, supervision and conduct of both in vitro & in vivo activities to help with the development, characterization and optimization of novel capsids for ocular, neuroscience or muscular applications.
Job responsibilities
Actively participate in experimental design and execution of in vitro & in vivo studies contributing to the screening of novel-conjugated capsids
Analyze experimental data and make data-driven recommendations to guide program direction and decision-making, presenting actionable insights to management and cross-functional team
Writing synopsis/study plans and reports and ensure the update and maintenance of accurate and complete computer laboratory logbooks
Ensure smooth collaboration with other project team members/departments for program-specific needs
Present progress and scientific updates to project team
Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in gene therapy and novel vector development
Experiences/Professional requirements
Advanced degree in Neuroscience, Biochemical Sciences, Bio-Engineering or any related field (MS/PhD/PharmD) with >4 years (PhD/PharmD) OR > 8 years (BS/MS) of laboratory experience
Regulatory training in animal handling & surgery is mandatory
Proficiency in intravenous injections, as well as stereotactic injection techniques for intracerebral administration in rodents
Proficiency in cell and tissue culture systems
Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, RT-qPCR, dPCR, protein analysis methods (Western-blot, ELISA, Jess), histology and imaging techniques (live and/or microscopy imaging)
Strong record of scientific publications
Industry experience in a biotech/pharma setting is a plus
