Coave Therapeutics is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company committed to developing transformative gene therapies using our proprietary ALIGATER™ (Advanced Vectors-Ligand Conjugates) platform. Our mission is to deliver targeted and efficient AAV-based therapeutics for treating rare and common disorders with a focus on ocular, neuromuscular, and central nervous system diseases.

2. Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scientist to join our Preclinical team in support of an early-stage ocular gene therapy program. The successful candidate will lead the design and execution of in vitro studies, including expression, target engagement, and cell-based assays. This role includes mentoring Senior Research Associate and requires strong experimental autonomy, scientific rigor, and hands-on bench work.

3. Key Responsibilities

Design and conduct in vitro assays to evaluate vector expression, target engagement, potency, and mechanism of action.

Develop and optimize cell-based models relevant to ocular neovascularization and gene transfer.

Mentor and supervise one Senior Research Associate, supporting their development and day-to-day work.

Analyze and interpret data, drawing actionable conclusions and presenting findings to the team.

Collaborate cross-functionally with molecular biology and CMC teams.

Maintain accurate records, protocols, and data in line with internal standards and best practices.

Stay current with emerging trends in ocular and neovascularization models systems.

4. Education

• PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, virology, or a related field.
• Previous research experience involving in vitro models of neovascularization is a strong plus.
